Gecko Given Slow Death By Huge Wolf Spider

If you take a look at these pictures, you’ll possibly have a different opinion of Australia

This absolute behemoth is a wolf spider that has just bagged itself an absolutely massive meal for itself.

The wolf spider was caught dangling a gecko almost twice its size from its fangs in Brisbane, causing a slow death for the lizard.

The photographer, Dan Ryan, who managed to capture the horrifically mesmerising moment, says that he was taking his 3 kids to his car when he noticed the incredible moment happening, and knew he had to get it on camera.

Dan said:
From afar, I thought it was a stick and a leaf, but when I got near it, I saw the huge spider with a gecko hanging from its mouth.
I couldn’t believe my eyes. It was incredible – but also really creepy. Not only the spider but the fact that there was a dead gecko hanging from its fangs. It was just so weird.
I had to get up really close to take the photos and I was a bit scared it might jump on me. I’ve never seen a gecko being killed by a spider like that, and it’s quite shocking because the gecko was longer in length.
But obviously this spider went after bigger prey and won. I guess the spider eventually dragged the gecko away to eat it. I never saw it again.

According to the Australian Arachnology this breed of spider is common all around Australia and is considered very dangerous to humans – though not lethal.

And even more terrifyingly, these spiders are opportunistic hunters that will even chase their prey over short distances.

These hunters are also known to wait for prey near the mouth of a hole or burrow before they jump out and take their meal. Dan says this is what happened in this case with the gecko.

He said:

The fence panelling is dislodged, so I think the spider was hiding in there, and when the gecko came past he grabbed it.

It didn’t have a web. It looked like it has been lurking and hiding. We live in a really leafy area and there are always different sorts of creatures around and we’ve seen plenty of snakes and spiders. But nothing quite like this.

Dublin Hotel Snubs YouTube Star & Jokingly Sends Her Massive Bill

This week we heard about Elle Darby, the YouTuber who got publicly slapped down by a Dublin hotel after she “cheekily” asked them for a free 5-day stay in exchange for ‘exposure’.

Well, now the argument between the pair has reached a completely new level as the hotel’s owner Paul Stenson has sent her an invoice for the exposure they’ve given her – to the tune of over €5,000,000 !

The invoice, which the White Moose Café shared to its social media profiles, charged Ella €4,300,000 for “the provision of features in 114 articles across 20 countries with a potential reach of 450 million people”.

Stenson then also added VAT at 23%, meaning that Elle has to pay €5,289,000.

I’m posting out this invoice today…

We assume that the invoice is just a joke, but according to number crunchers on LinkedIn the figure Stenson has charged Darby looks completely legit, given the publicity it’s given them both.

To think that this could all have been avoided.

It all started when Elle got in contact with the hotel by email, asking them if they would be interested in a ‘possible collaboration’.

Elle explained to them that she and her partner planned to visit Dublin between 8 – 12 February to enjoy an ‘early Valentine’s Day weekend … [and] to explore the area’.

In her email she highlighted her 87,000 YouTube subscribers and 76,000 Instagram followers, she offered to feature the hotel in her YouTube videos, Instagram stories and posts ‘to bring traffic to your hotel and recommend others to book up in return for free accommodation’.

Stenson then responded publicly to Elle’s cheeky request, saying that it takes ‘a lot of balls’ to send an email like that, but ‘not much self-respect and dignity’, making a point of asking how all of his staff would get paid if he were to give her the freebie.

“In future, I’d advise you to offer to pay your way like everyone else, and if the hotel in question believes your coverage will help them, maybe they’ll give you a complimentary upgrade to a suite,” Stenson replied.

“This would show more self-respect on your part and, let’s face it, it would be less embarrassing for you.”

While Stenson didn’t name Elle directly in his post, she later took to YouTube to address the controversy. insisting she contacted Stenson with “nothing but the purest intentions”.

In the bloggers video, she claimed people who are over the age of 30 have “no idea how social media works these days” and was clearly upset as she defended herself.

Stenson has now banned all social media bloggers from their hotel, saying that the backlash the White Moose Café received gave the whole blogging industry ‘a bad name’.

Now, we wondering whether Elle will be brave enough to respond with another video this time.

Emotional footage has emerged of a young girl showing incredible kindness and strength to her brother as she carries him to and from school every day.

Zhou Dingshuang puts on her brother’s shoes every morning and carries him out to school come rain or shine – she clearly doesn’t want her brother to miss out on anything.

It was not clear just whether the boy would be able to go to school or not, but in order to make sure her brother would get the education he deserved, Zhou offered her help to make sure he got to school every single day.

In the video, you will see Zhou getting her 12-year-old brother’s shoes before carrying him 500 metres to the classroom.

They siblings live and study at the same boarding school, which is why their parents aren’t around to help them, and special arrangements have been made to ensure the siblings can stay together and look after each other.

In the video, you will see the pair crossing the square towards school working as a team, with Zhou giving her brother a piggy-back and her brother holding an umbrella to make sure neither of them get wet.

Footage Of A Doctor ‘Flipping’ A Breech Baby In The Womb Has Gone Viral

There are some things that have to be in order for labor and birth to go the way it is supposed to.

It’s a very delicate process and in order for baby to come out healthy and unharmed, baby has to know which way to be positioned.

We don’t know how a baby knows that it’s best to flip to head down, or even if they do?

But it could just be that they end up having gravity push them head down because their head is the heaviest? But, what we do know is that if a baby doesn’t go down head first — and they’re in breech position — doctors don’t like to attempt vaginal delivery that way.

There are a couple of options to go over when you find yourself at risk of having a breech delivery.

Many doctors prefer not to assist a mom in delivering a baby that isn’t already head down. Some babies end up with their bottom or feet down, or sideways. Most doctors prefer to do things the “safest route” and schedule a c-section. But that comes with its own risks, as well.

Some doctors and moms-to-be still opt do manually move the baby, while it’s still in the womb. A trained doctor needs to do this because it’s extremely painful and can really do harm if they do things wrong.

One mom opted to try the breech turn, called External Cephalic Version, and it’s gone viral because the video is just INSANE

Not all people are the same. According to Birth Without Fear, the majority of babies will be head down by the time labor and birth begins. But, in about 1-3 percent of the case, that doesn’t happen.

In these cases, a Mom and doctor can opt to go ahead, if the doctor is comfortable and experienced in helping to deliver breech babies. Or a c-section can be scheduled in advance.

Doctors may suggest a procedure called external cephalic version.

This procedure involves a doctor using his hand to manually turn the baby by pressing on the pregnant stomach.

“It involves actually physically turning the baby by placing hands on the woman’s uterus to almost help the baby do somersaults inside the uterus,” Doctor Joanne Stone told Health.

According to statistics, around 60 percent of the time in external cephalic version are successful in turning the baby. And the complication risk is relatively low, at less than 1 percent.

This mom went for it … and filmed it.

Vanessa Fisher, decided to go for external cephalic version to try and turn her breech baby before labor.

She writes on Facebook, ““Prior to the procedure, we attempted a number of other methods to turn the baby naturally. Ultimately, our goal is to avoid a cesarean section by any means possible.”

When those methods didn’t work at all, she and her doctor, Dr. Cummings, opted to try external cephalic version at 38 weeks.

This procedure has to be done in the hospital in case labor starts or if there are any of those rare complications. And it’s not usually attempted until the baby has reached full term for these reasons as well.
According to WebMD, Mothers are often given medication to help reduce any uterine contractions.

This is done to help prevent labor from beginning and to help keep the uterus from contracting and restricting any movement. The Mother is usually hooked up to monitors as well to help ensure baby stays happy and healthy.

Their attempt to turn the baby was successful — but the video looks SO painful.

Watch with some warning that some may find it hard to watch or graphic – it’s pretty wild.

The mom later took to Facebook to give an update and announced the birth of her healthy child.
